Web Developer - FILLED
Staff Systems is currently recruiting for a Web Developer for a research project led by a respected Director in the public health sector located in Burnaby. The successful candidate will translate and implement directions from the Director into the required architectural and functional feature designs of the project. He/she will also define and guide the development process of the project. The individual will develop and document high and low-level technical designs and will provide executive team members with regular communication of project progress. The individual will set and meet milestones and will produce all deliverables in a timely manner while ensuring that all features meet approved expectations of functionality and performance.
They require an individual who possesses a strong knowledge of database-driven websites and who has the following expertise:
- 2+ years PHP programming experience
- 2+ years experience working with Apache and mySQL
- Solid OO development experience
- 1+ years developing web services or equivalent experience developing n-tiered web applications
- XML
- Strong web GUI experience
- AJAX, Javascript, CSS
- Experience working in a multi developer environment using version control software
The following skills are considered beneficial but not mandatory:
- Experience with the DRUPAL content management system
- Experience with creating mashups
- Development of web forms and applications within MS Access
- Work experience with large-scale web projects
- Experience with Open Source development
- Understanding of public health practice
